SHIPPING

As per our policy, most orders are shipped within 24 hours of placing the order.  However, we are sometimes out of stock on certain items and items may be backordered.  Also, during very, very busy days, in-stock orders may be shipped on the second day.  Orders placed on Friday or Saturday also may be held until general shipment options are available, such as UPS or the United States Postal Service.  Generally, however, we do our very best to ship orders with 24 hours of the order placed.

Our Regular Mail and Express Mail costs below will be used for priority mail via the U. S. Postal Service, or UPS.  

Occasionally, with very small orders, customers will have an opportunity to buy via regular first class mail, via the United States Postal Service, at a rate of $5.00 per shipment.  See schedule below.

ORDER PROCESSING

After TheChefHat.com processes your order, we will notify you send you an email containing the invoice of your order.  Please check your spam filter for all notifications. If you need further information, call or contact us at thechefhat@gmail.com.

Once your order has been picked up by the shipping company, it becomes their responsibility to see that the order is delivered to the address provided, undamaged and within the proper amount of time.  As TheChefHat.com primarily uses USPS postage, UPS (if available) tracking information will only be provided after contacting TheChefHat.com.

RETURNS AND STUFF

Large quantity orders shipped from the manufacturer will not have this included, so the customer will need to contact us for return authorization.  We are not responsible for items returned to the manufacturer without proper authorization and these items will not be credited.

All items must be in original sale condition for credit of the purchase price. Any item returned to us Washed, Worn, Damaged, Soiled or Altered will be either discarded or returned to you at your expense.

Sale items are not returnable.

Customer is responsible for all shipping costs. If you refuse delivery of package, additional charges will apply. Return items processed without an exchange will be charged a 20% re-stocking fee. Returned orders that qualified for free shipping will have regular shipping charges deducted from credit. 

When we have received your return and items have been inspected, a credit will be issued on the credit card used for purchase or applied to any exchange. We will only refund shipping charges if the return is a result of our error.

Ordering online through our web site is easy, however you can call or live chat your order to us.

Sometimes items are in demand and we occasionally run out. You will be notified via email if there are any backorders. At that time we will let you know when the item will be available and of any suitable alternatives.  There is no additional charge for shipping backorder items separately if you choose to wait.      

SECURITY

When we transfer and receive certain types of sensitive information such as financial information, we direct visitors to our secure server. All information is then encrypted using a 128K Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate. We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from visitors at our site.

We do not sell or give away your information to any other companies.

We do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.  The information we collect is used for internal review and is then discarded, used to improve the content of our Web pages, used to customize the content and/or layout of our pages, used to provide visitors with more information, and is not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes.

Cookies are also used to record past activity in order to provide better service when you  return. We may also use cookies to allow you to save your login information. This will save you time on future purchases. You may refuse or block any of our cookies if you desire.           

 

Occasionally we like to send our customers special offers on our products. We send a coupon code and sale information to the customer email on file, so be sure to add us to your safe list.

Coupons codes are also issued occasionally to specific customers for various reasons such as credit on return items or customer satisfaction.

Gift certificates are available in any dollar amount and are valid for 1 year. The prefix Gift must be included.
